League Rules

  • Stop Clock Games
  • High School - 32 minute stop clock games
  • 7th/8th Grade - 30 minute stop clock games
  • 5th/6th Grade - 28 minute stop clock games
  • 1 and 1 on 7th foul
  • bonus on 10th foul
  • 5 x 30 second time outs per game
  • 1 extra 30 second time out per overtime session plus any unused from regulation play
  • Timeout duration will be strictly enforced
  • player disqualification on 5th foul
  • Mercy Rule : When a team’s lead has exceeded 25 points, the clock runs
  • Officials & Scorekeepers do not have the authority to “run the clock” unless the Mercy Rule is in effect
  • 1 minute overtimes
  • 3 minute warm up time between games
  • Pressing + zones allowed at every level unless both coaches agree to change before game.
  • All referees decisions are final. No protests!
  • Tournament provides clock operator & score keeper
  • One of two competing teams can provide a score keeper to be the official book. Both coaches must agree if a team provides the official scorer.
  • Teams must provide their own basketballs. Referees will choose most suitable game ball between 2 competing teams.
  • New Jersey State high school 28.5" sized basketball will be used in all girls divisions and all boys divisions, except boys 13 and older.
  • In younger boys divisions both competing coaches can agree to use a regulation sized ball but this decision must be mutually agreeable
  • Forfeit time is 10 minutes after game time.
  • If a team arrives after Forfeit time, the forfeit is still in effect
  • At the site directors / referee's discretion a game can still be played. Time outs may be eliminated for games not starting on time. The late team will be penalized first. If both teams are late, both will be penalized.
